What is TEF IRN? | The TEF Intégration, Résidence, Nationalité (IRN) test assesses the level of proficiency in French in listening and speaking for anyone applying for French citizenship. |
Who can take it? | Candidates must be at least 16 years of age to take the TEF test. Candidates may take the test several times, allowing for a minimum of 30 days between two exam sessions. |
What will be assessed? | The TEF IRN consists of four mandatory examinations: WRITTEN COMPREHENSION Computer-based 13 multiple choice questions (30 minutes). ORAL COMPREHENSION Computer-based 17 multiple choice questions (10 minutes). WRITTEN EXPRESSION Computer-based 2 topics to be covered in 30 minutes. ORAL EXPRESSION Face to face with an examiner 2 topics to be covered, 10 minutes in total. |
