What is TCF TP?The Test de connaissance du français (TCF) is intended for non-native French speakers who wish to assess and certify their level of proficiency in French for various reasons:

- Personal: the TCF provides a snapshot of the candidate’s proficiency in written and oral French.

- Professional: the TCF certificate is a benchmark of the candidate’s language abilities and may be used to enhance job applications.

- Academic: the TCF is required by postsecondary education institutes for students wishing to apply for final year in undergraduate or postgraduate programs. If you want to register in France for a first or a second year of undergraduate studies or for a school of architecture and you do not have the DELF B2 or DALF diploma, you must take the TCF Tout Public with the two optional modules.
Who can take it?Candidates must be at least 16 years of age to take the TCF test.
Candidates may take the test several times, allowing for a minimum of 30 days between two exam sessions.
What will be assessed? The TCF TP consists of three compulsory modules:
- Listening: 29 questions – 25 min
- Language structures: 18 items – 15 min
- Reading: 29 questions – 45 min

Two optional modules:
- Writing: 3 topics – 60 min
