AF in Halifax
Founded in 1903, Alliance Française Halifax (AFH) is a Canadian not-for-profit association dedicated to the promotion of the French language and of French speaking cultures. Our association is part of the Alliance Française Foundation, the world’s largest network of French language schools and cultural centers.
Located in the historical Hydrostone district of Halifax, our centre is one of nine Alliances Françaises present in Canada. Nationwide, the French Alliance network provides training to over 12 000 students annually and our Halifax location is considered the best French as a second language (FSL) school in the province.
Operating as a cultural centre, a language school, and an official examination centre for internationally-recognized diplomas and certificates, AFH represents a vibrant cultural force promoting intercultural exchange and communication between people of all ages and backgrounds.
